The Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD University) was established in 1887. It had previous names such as the Victoria College of Art, The Nova Scotia College of Art, and then lastly the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. The student population of this University is just over 950. Thus making it a great school for focusing on the individuals needs rather than a large group.
NSCAD University was one of North America's first art schools and today offers its students undergraduate and graduate degrees in the following areas of study: Foundation, Historical and Critical Studies, Craft, Design, Fine Arts, and Media Arts.
