Located in the heart of Halifax, Nova Scotia, the QEII is the largest adult academic health sciences centre in Atlantic Canada, occupying 10 buildings on two sites. It was created in 1996 with the merger of the Victoria General, Halifax Infirmary, Abbie J. Lane Memorial, Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial, Nova Scotia Rehabilitation Centre and the Nova Scotia Cancer Centre. In addition to providing care to tens of thousands of Atlantic Canadians each year, the QEII is a centre of excellence in health research.

QE II Halifax Hospital Location and Maps:
The QEII Health Sciences Centre is located in the south end of Halifax. The QEII occupies ten buildings on two sites. It is possible to reach the QEII by several routes, avoiding much of the downtown traffic. Following are some tips for those unfamiliar with Halifax.
You may find the green H hospital street signs helpful locating the hospital district. Remember, these signs are not just for the QEII - they also point out routes to other hospitals in the area - but they will guide you to the general location.
How To Find the QEII
Firstly, determine which of the two QEII sites you are looking for. The driving directions below will take you to whichever site you choose. We suggest using the locator map after you park your car to find the building you need. Directions are written for those coming from several areas of the province.
The QEII occupies ten buildings on two sites. Because there are patient beds in several buildings at the QEII, the following steps should help. 1) Call the patient switchboard (902) 473-1510 to find out which building and the room number the patient has been admitted to. 2) Click here to find the physical / mailing addresses of the various buildings comprising the QEII. This is a listing of some of the most frequently contacted numbers at the QEII. The access road is off Summer Street, adjacent to the CBC building. This is the only adult emergency department in peninsular Halifax - replacing the former emergency departments at the Victoria General and old Halifax Infirmary. The use of scented products causes allergic reactions in many people, so please do not wear or use scented products such as perfume, aftershave, hairspray or lotions during your stay at the QEII, and please ask your visitors to do the same.
There are convenience stores, gift shops, and bank machines in several buildings throughout the QEII. Hair care services are offered in patients’ rooms (902–473-2432). Patients and visitors also have the convenience of on-site services such as Pharmasave pharmacies at both the Victoria General and the Halifax Infirmary; Curwin Health & Sport and VitalAire.
