Acadia University

Acadia University was established in 1838 in Nova Scotia and was recently ranked by MacLean’s as 'Best Overall' in the annual reputation survey of primarily undergraduate universities. They have been ranked first in this category every year since 1994. With just over 3,800 students, there are over 200 degree combinations from the Faculty of Arts, Pure and Applied Science, Professional Studies and Theology. |

Cape Breton University

Cape Breton University (CBU), located in Sydney Nova Scotia, was established in 1974 and was known as the College of Cape Breton. In 1982, it changed its name to the University College of Cape Breton and finally became Cape Breton University in 2005. This was the result of an attempt to create an institution of higher learning by the provincial government. |

University of King's College

The University of King's College was founded in 1789 by Anglican Loyalists who escaped to Nova Scotia during the American Revolution. Originally located in Windsor, Nova Scotia, the Anglican Loyalists had to move to Halifax due to a huge fire destroying their original campus. This University was the first institution of higher learning in English Canada. |
