Art Gallery of Nova Scotia is the gateway to the arts for Atlantic Canada. Located in downtown Halifax, with a second location located in downtown Yarmouth, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia is open to the public and offers various exhibitions and a varity of programming opportunities. With more than 13,000 works in the collection it is Atlantic Canada's premier art museums.

The Gallery’s two venues make up approximately 90,000 square feet of space which houses its permanent collection of over 13,000 pieces. In addition, AGNS brings in many Nova Scotian, national and international exhibits every year, contributing to the paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, photographs, ceramics and other works that can be found on display.

All areas of the Gallery are wheelchair accessible. If assistance or a wheelchair is required please visit our Information Desk. There are coatrooms and lockers available during Gallery hours.

Please note that backpacks, cameras, food, drinks, large bags and umbrellas are not permitted in Gallery spaces and must be checked.
