If you’re lucky enough to be spending a Saturday in Halifax,
go to the Brewery market between Hollis and Lower Water Streets.
This sprawling stone complex becomes a lively market on Saturdays,
where you can browse paintings, leatherwork or hand-dyed silk
scarves.
Come hungry, as you’ll be able to purchase home-smoked
sausage, warm cinnamon buns and delightful farm cheeses. You’ll
be promised displays of fresh local vegetables and fruits, along
with eggs, lamb and freshly baked bread to make your trip to this
unique farmer’s market a true joy.
The market runs on Saturdays from 7am-1pm. By the way, this
market area is named after the place where Alexander Keith once
brewed the beer that still bears his name.
