If you're interested in learning about the culture of this region,
you should look into Fisherman's Cove. Only 20 minutes from Downtown
Halifax, Fisherman’s Cove is one of Nova Scotia's oldest
and newest tourist destinations. This area is a living fishermen's
town, where you’ll enjoy the sounds of the ocean and amazing
views.
Bring your camera!
Watch the fishermen come in with their daily catch; you can buy
their fish right here! You can also learn the great history of
Fisherman’s Cove by enjoying a historic walk of the area.
Though this place is a paradise for fishermen it is also a great
place for shoppers and appreciators of the arts.
There is a beautiful gallery and other shops where you can purchase:
-
The art of local artists
-
Souvenirs
-
Maritime arts crafts
-
Unique folk art
-
And much more.
As you wander through the shops you might see local artists capturing
some of the spectacular vistas. While visiting, if you find yourself
hungry, feast on fantastic seafood, tea & coffee, soups, desserts,
sub-sandwiches, or enjoy a delicious ice cream treat.
Fisherman’s Cove is found in the Eastern Passage, just
off Route 322.
