The Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History houses permanent exhibits
on man and his environment in Nova Scotia. This museum is the
place to learn about fossils, dinosaurs, whales and birds. Visit
the Nature Centre to see many of these creatures live! Find snakes,
frogs and insects; the Butterfly Pavilion is filled with species
from around the globe.
Don’t forget to say hello to Gus, the 83-year-old tortoise!
From May through October, the museum is easily recognized by a
huge fiberglass model of a northern spring peeper (a frog) that
“clings” to the outside of the building.
Located at 1747 Summer Street in Halifax.
