Temperance ruled our thirst for rum in the port city of Halifax from 1916 to 1929. Never stepping down from a fight, Ryan Duffy’s speakeasy became the haunt of Halifax’s business elite. Parties extended ’till dawn, hidden from the watchful eyes of the Nova Scotia Temperance Alliance.
A stiff drink, juicy steaks and sumptuous salad still tempt both locals and visitors to Ryan Duffy’s, now operating “Legit” and amid fine stemware, linens and exquisite service.
For many years, Ryan Duffy's has been synonymous with good steak. Today, we have taken what is good and made it great. We proudly use local Black Angus beef tenderloin and Alberta AAA short loins for our in house dry aged cuts. Our own aging process allows us to ensure a steak with increased tenderness and a richer, more succulent flavour.
