The University of King's College was founded in 1789 by Anglican Loyalists who escaped to Nova Scotia during the American Revolution. Originally located in Windsor, Nova Scotia, the Anglican Loyalists had to move to Halifax due to a huge fire destroying their original campus. This University was the first institution of higher learning in English Canada. Ever since then, the University of King's College and Dalhousie University share the same campus through the amalgamation of the Faculty of Arts and Social Science and Science.
There are around 900 students enrolled at the University of King's College and have a choice of 6 degree opportunities including 3 in Journalism and 3 in interdisciplinary programs in the Humanities in Contemporary Studies, Early Modern Studies, and History of Science and Technology. The University of King's College is a great place to enjoy a quiet atmosphere and experience a great way of life.
